Written on an Airbed

Breaking through.

Last night I managed to go out on the town with some friends and actually have a good time. Pubs were visited, clubs were danced in, drinks were downed, and it all went okay.

Normally I run in fear at the mere mention of such a night. I don't like pubs or clubs, I don't like to drink, and the loud music just irritates me.

I'd put my fun experience last night down to three factors. Firstly, I had some great friends with me. Secondly, the places we went to were all free of smoke, thanks to the ban, which was a great help.

Most importantly, though, I think it was down to how I grew as a person in America. I think I definitely loosened up, and learned how to have fun with a group of people.

Which is a pretty cool break-through, as far as they go.
